Who We Serve
Rooted in the realities of semi-rural, rural, and urban communities surrounding Pietermaritzburg, we work directly with youth who face daily challenges such as poverty, unemployment, gender-based violence, substance abuse, and limited access to quality education. Empowering Youth exists to address these inequalities, offering programmes that build resilience, confidence, and long-term opportunities for young people.

Community Context
Empowering Youth serves communities grappling with high unemployment, poverty, crime, drug abuse, and limited access to essential services. Many households have young people who lack role models, guidance, or safe spaces to learn and grow. By providing mentorship, training, and support, we help bridge the gap between young people’s potential and their opportunities.
